Followed this guide (as well as the one from youtube) but when I'm done my monitor doesn't get any signal after the apple boot logo, any idea why this is? (I'm using a 1070, b550m ds3h, ryzen 5 5500, sonoma)

Attach your PR Files to check!

On Laptops, it's different due to the technology. If the IGPU is factory disabled, you can use it with acceleration. However, note that this patch is still experimental.

Hey thanks a lot for this guide. It worked on my Asus rog G751JY laptop with gtx980m and I7 4710HQ (integrated gpu factory disabled). I could even benchmark the gpu on geekbanch 6 and the score is decent.

Though I’m facing a problem when using software like photoshop as I get an error saying that I have insufficient Vram as in the screenshot.
Another problem i have is hdmi. When I connect an external monitor it becomes the only monitor available and i can't dual screen or anything, also when i remove the hdmi cable the integrated monitor turns black so i have to force restart.
I have tried adding ipc_control_port_options=0 boot arg but didn't help, SIP is disabled as well..
Can you help me with that please? I attached the pr files I managed to get (sorry i am a noob) and had to remove some kexts (bluetooth and wifi) from my efi folder for it to be small enough to attach.
thanks a lot for your work!

As the patch is purely experimental, problems are expected. Although, this patch can enable the acceleration, this enables only the OpenCL function and the metal function is still lacking. Hence, Applications requiring metal support may not work.

If the IGPU is not factory disabled, you can use the IGPU. In case, if its disabled, you can use High Sierra with everything working.

Thanks for your answer! I fully understand that the patch is experimental and that metal is unsupported but the problem I'm having here is the fact is that the software can't seem to recognize the available VRAM on the gtx 980m. Any idea how to get fix that? Or is it because the lack of metal support that it can't find the Vram?

It could be due to the lack of metal support or due to the bug in the patches itself. Try and older release of Adobe and then check.
