Random freezes, reboots and sleep not working after adding Graphic card

To which settings? I checked your "BIOS/UEFI Settings for Desktop (Intel/AMD)" but there's nothing there
Oh, damn. I'll update the guide soon. Reset Defaults and use the following settings.

- Disable Fast Boot
- Enable Intel Virtualization Technology
- Disable VT-d
- Disable IGPU.

Also, do you use Thunderbolt on this build?

I'll try with the procedure I found, hope I don't mess up my GPU
You assume all the risk!

Just these? Nothing more? Can I at least keep XMP enabled to have RAM at full frequency? what about CSM do I need to disable it? I think it's enabled in default settings

I'll first try to see if using proper BIOS settings works, if not.... I guess I'll have to attempt the flashing and hope for the best:)

PS: about Thunderbolt; not yet I'm still trying to make it work but I have no device to test but I'll post more about that in the appropriate thread later

Yeah. Once you determine that the system is stable on boot, set XMP to Profile 1. Leave everything as it is, i.e to their BIOS default values including CSM and 4G Decoding.

Yes, most probably, it is your BIOS.

Ah. And i see that Thunderbolt Settings were configured in BIOS. For now, Disable Thunderbolt Support in BIOS. After all the BIOS changes, save & exit and reset NVRAM twice and then boot to Mac. Once booted, rebuild kextcache and shutdown. Disconnect the PSU Cable from the wall socket/UPS. Wait for 30mins to drain the caps. In the off state, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Connect the cable back, turn on your system, check for freezing.

For the BIOS Settings, here is a video from the channel. Will update the BIOS guide soon.

I'm back,

Ok I will not enable TB for the moment and wait for tomorrow as freezes are only happening on cold boots now.
If there are no issues, I will enable XMP bios and adapt other BIOS settings based on the video if they are present in the bios version my MB uses of course.

Thanks!

For that, I suggested the procedure above ;)

Sounds good!

Dortania's OC installation guide which I was using up to now seems so outdated... or is it because it's more intended for laptops even if there is a desktop section?

One other question if possible, specifically on hibernate mode (hope I'm not off topic:)). The default value is set to 3 (also on real iMacs) yet most of the community and even Hackintool recommends to set the value to 0. Why this difference and which one do you recommend? 0 or 3?

Everyone has a different approach ;)

Honestly, I never touch those settings on my hacks and it works all perfectly. However, on some it's required, which can be done within Hackintool.

I have just noticed something about Thunderbolt (note that I still have dtgp.aml and SSDT-TB3.aml files in my ACPI folder). Usually it is disabled with default settings so I didn't check after reseting BIOS but now it's enabled but not with the settings I had set previously.

Should I remove the two DSDT, do the bios settings, kextcache and power drain again making sure that TB is off in BIOS?
