Thank you so much @CaseySJ for you efforts. I had an Asus Z490 Prime A board and recently changed to this Z490 Gigabyte vision D due to the thunderbolt capability. I went ahead and flashed the onboard thunderbolt chip with the firmware you created and has been super solid! Thank you once again for your efforts!

One issue I have noticed is that my core acceleration stays at 3.7GHZ. I have a 10850K which was getting up to 5.2ghz in my old Asus z490 board. I can actually get acceleration to work by selecting "Custom" in Smbiosmode under platform and also enabling the customSmbiosGuid under Kernal. The issue with this is that I lose my apple credentials and cannot login into any apple icloud services.

I have attached my EFI and you be ever so grateful if you could help me with this. It's my last hurdle in getting this golden build working.

Thank you,

Are you referring acceleration as Overclockiing?

No, not overclocking. My Cpu (10850k) has a core speed of 3.6Ghz and turbo boost up to 5.2GHZ.

At the moment it is capped at 3.7GHZ and will not run any faster.

When I set" CustomSmbiosmode" it gets the full 5.2GHZ but I cannot login into any apple iCloud services. My serial number is missing in about this Mac too. I cannot populate it.

I am just baffled here and cannot figure it out.

For Desktops, I really don't recommend to use CPUFriend and CPUFriendDataProvider. Remove it.

There are two USB Mapping kexts. Use one as per your SMBIOS.

Append the above changes and then check.

Sorry, that config was slightly wrong. I was playing around with different SMBIOS. That second USB kext should not of been enabled.

I have tried it with both CPUFriend and CPUFriendDataProvider removed but still the same issue.

here is the config I am working from.

Is it possible that flashing the thunderbolt chip has done something?

No, that has no effect at all. Make sure your BIOS settings are intact. Also, what App are you using to check the Clock speed?

I have reset the bios and built it again as per golden build.

I am using intel power gadget to monitor... I can also tell by the cpu cooler as I don't hear it ramp up when it is stuck at 3.7GHZ.

If I enable AppleXcpmForceBoost under "kernel" and "quirks" it gets the full 5.2GHZ but is stays up at that speed when idle.

Also when I boot into windows it runs perfect and gets the full 5.2GHZ speed when needed.

Well, that's really not required.

Provide a Kextcache output and a copy of IOReg.

Im not too sure how to provide a kextcache output? Could you help me with that?

In Terminal, just use the following command

sudo kextcache -i/
