I have returned to the original UHD 630 config, i have implemented there the 2 patches (and SIMBIOS) and now i have metal activated!!

Now i only need to deal with Ethernet, HDMI output, Backlight, Sleep function, etc.

Second try, i have returned to original config.plist without your 2 patches. I have booted with -v and was all normal until the laptop screen turn complet black and stoped there. I think that was not blocked becouse when i press a key in the laptop keyboard, the backlight go on and after a few seconds off. I can do this for ever.

Probably the Laptop is on and needs a Backlight fix.

After that i have booted with my "safe" config (the one for the UHD 630) and OsX didn't say me that was a kernel panic, so.. don't know.

Please note that the reason why the kernel panic happens in terms of Graphics is due to less DVMT size when a correct ig-platform-id and device id is set. If a invalid data will be set, the system will boot without any issue and yes, with no acceleration.

Third try, i have removed in Device/Properties one # in every line to activate all the patches and i have booted my laptop. Same result. Attached is the config.plist used, becouse i am not sure if i have done correctly with uncomment properties.

The config.plist looks good. What do you mean by same result? Black screen or no acceleration?

I have seen in your guide that some laptops can have black screen and a tutorial to backlight control activating. Should i follow this guide?

I forgot to say that i am always able to boot with the default version of the UHD630 config.plist but of course without metal.

Like i mentioned, it's not the correct configuration for your Laptop hardware. As per your profile.

I have not included kextcache becouse is the same as before, nothing changes

Seems fine. Keep it on a different USB. Use the HD620 config.plist and change the two data from the guide. Report

Hi Guys, I have LG 17 Gram 17z990 uhd 620 whiskey lake, i7-8565u with 10.14.5 installed. qe/ci and metal works fine with device-id 0xA53E0000, AAPL,ig-platform-id 0x00009B3E and framebuffer patch. Now I'm trying to install 10.15.4 and have faced with a problem. I can boot only with device-id 0xA53E0000 and no qe/ci When I'm trying to boot with device-id 0xA53E0000 and any possible AAPL,ig-platform-id I have a panic on appleintelcflgraphicsframebuffer. How to fix this? I attached efi folder with clover configuration for both 10.14.5 and 10.15.4 as well as ioreg with weg dumps I made in 10.14.5

Yes, yesterday i tried to do that and i got kernel panic, so my "conclusions" that both config was the same and the only difference was the 2 parameters of your guide was an error (for sure you knew it).

Maybe i didn't check correctly or there is something that clover configuration does not show. I will keep trying
