Spent countless attempt with other catalina images installation to no avail, I think this issue should be considered paying attention to, as I have read others having same crashing experience during the install. very frustrating.

tried the patch with olarila catalina.

on the other note, I attempted doing it manually as per the POST script, crashing begins after doing the first copy command to /System/Library/Extensions/ you may be able to do the next copy but in the background the crashing is silently doing its job already, until you cannot do any more at the terminal, the PAM error is already there for you.

Got a little progress here!,
I managed to discover the system to load the Intel HD kexts files,

I placed all the Apple Intel HD 3000 files to the EFI/Clover/kexts/other
However, when boot up, system would crash again, but thats the beauty of it, you can block whatever kext file on clover boot screen.

Funny thing is, here is the catch, On clover booth screen I need to block the Intel HD 3000 kext?!!!, really?!!!,

And then happy to see the screen with proper display driver applied upon seeing the desktop loads.

No patch applied just plain kext files. Now this is only partial result, I need to investigate further on this for final settings.
As I discovered this when I already gaved up patching the dispaly driver and moving into the Sound driver.

here are the steps I did:
1. Placed AppleALC kexts to EFI/Clover/kexts/other
2. Added boot flag (Layout-id) to config.plist:
alcid=12
4. Lilu kext must also be in the EFI/Clover/kexts/other.

*A piece of advice, duplicate your working config plist before applying changes, you can choose all the config of your choice in the clover boot screen by pressing the letter O.

What's the crash you're referring to? When you run the script or after the script is done?

That's not the correct way.

here are the steps I did:

Not related to Graphics.

This was the old way of this guide. However, Chris did a fantastic work and it works like a charm. We'll soon test it on the latest version of Catalina.

hello, i tried to install mojave in asus n53sv notebook, then i applied the fix graphics and screen is weird (no prob with high sierra or with mojave before the patch although i had no qe/ci acceleration). My screen is 1920x1080. It seems chris' patch doesn't consider high resolution in mojave. How can i fix? Thanks!

Probably, you forgot to read the Notes indicated for DSDT patch.
