5GHz WiFi on a native Apple card doesn't work properly

Booting it directly through the BIOS's boot select menu, not through OpenCore.

And yea, all the cables are installed properly & voltages seem to be showing up fine on the monitoring page in the BIOS

And you also tried to clear CMOS, reset BIOS defaults, and also flashed new BIOS using QFlash right?

Do you have Windows or any real Mac with 5GHz Capability to check?

CMOS already auto cleared when I flashed a new BIOS (and tried to do this earlier by removing the battery & disconnecting power as well) & yea I used QFlash

Don't have a real Mac, but I can shove this card into a different PC to check if its working there

That will defeat the purpose. In this case, install Windows to confirm.

Well, you asked me if I have a real Mac with 5GHz to check, wouldn't that defeat the purpose as well lol 🙃

Also I ditched Windows a while ago, so don't have it at all on any PCs I own & kinda don't want to install it as it sometimes messes up stuff.
So, I'll try the card through Gandalf's Win10 PE Redstone

Well, Windows was required to test the Router. As that's left in the question and the real Mac will tell us if the Router is transmitting well. As it has to be tested on your hardware specifically, just on Windows to make sure if the board is itself having issues.

ok so, I installed the latest driver for this card (from 2016) in Windows PE, and it somehow managed to connect to my 5GHz network, on channel 36.

I moved my router to a different location a few days ago so only getting about 350Mbps over 5GHz on this card atm (my iPad is getting 450Mbps from the same spot), but still proves that its working on Windows.

So, I have no idea why it doesn’t want to work on Linux & macOS.

Quick update about Linux: I managed to get it to connect to my 5GHz network, but its still slow (~50Mbps)

The Linux driver is probably just worse than the Windows one, but I’d expect the macOS driver to be the best as this is a native Apple card

Now you know why I asked to test on Windows and a clean install on the macOS side ;)

This tells us that the hardware components are not faulty, including the Router!

On the Linux side, it's the driver, and being a Unix, it somehow behaves the same in terms of functionality when compared to macOS. On the macOS side, you need to narrow it down one by one, starting from the changes mentioned for the EFI, then proceeding with a clean install.

Yes, it's due to driver for sure.

- Enable ExtendBTFeatureFlags in the Kernel>Quirks section.
You sure that I should enable this?

Clearly says macOS 10.8-11. I'm running 13.

Also, the parts of continuity that don't need 5GHz WiFi, already work completely fine for me
