@EliteMacx86 related to post#25, are the set of patches mentioned on below link still true for Catalina, or are they no longer useful?

Can you also suggest what other patches i should apply to my system dsdt, i applied all possible ones from the clover setup guide.

Thank you.

Those are for Sierra only.

What issue are you having as of now?

What are the list of patches you applied?

What issue are you having as of now?

Currently, I need to be able to find out if I can use my Intel nvme ssd with Catalina, as i have installed it on SATA and disabled nvme to avoid panic at boot. If my nvme ssd can work (somehow), it will be great and i can reinstall on it.

What are the list of patches you applied?

Applied the following patches to my DSDT:
  • Layout ID
  • Rename GFX0 to IGPU
  • Fix _WAK Arg0 v2
  • Fix Mutex with non-zero SyncLevel
  • HPET Fix
  • IRQ Fix
  • OS Check Fix
  • RTC Fix
  • SMBUS Fix
  • 7-series/8-series USB
  • [bat] Dell Inspiron 15-7xxx
  • OS Check Fix Windows 10
  • USB 3 _PRW 0x6D instant wake
  • [GPIO] GPIO controller enable [SKL+]

Like i mentioned, not all NVMe is supported on macOS. Provide me the exact model to check further.
7-series/8-series USB
This patch is not intended for your system. Check the notes in the guide.
USB 3 _PRW 0x6D instant wake
If your DSDT has 0x6D, then it's the correct patch. Note that there are two versions.

Yup checked DSDT first, this is the right patch.

NVMe model:
Intel (Former Teton Glacier) 16G + 256G QLC PCIE NVME SSD w/Optane Memory (attached image)
Note: When Raid mode is set in bios, the optane memory works as a cache over the nvme ssd. Since it is set to AHCI mode, they appear as two nvme ssd's separately (256G + 16G). I have formatted the optane as 16gb ntfs from windows to confirm this.

Checking the USB patch, though i don't think it should affect anything other than sleep function, because so far there are no other problems in usb ports.

The Optane will NOT work i guess. So better to replace it with a new SSD.

Alright, I am happy with my sata for now, so will look for a good replacement once i decide to switch to sdd.

Thank you.
