Hello,

I'm encountering annoying freezes and app crashes on my system (needs hard reboot). I'm on Sonoma 14.5, Intel 13900K; AMD RX6800XT, 128Go RAM, Asus TUF gaming Z790, OC 1.0.2.

I think it is a grahics issue, as Adobe Lightroom often crashes. The problem is that I can't isolate a specific task that provokes the freeze. It can be right after the login in my session, while working on apps, generally LR or Pshop (rarely). I reboot, and then I'm fine for a while or it freezes again. I'm running Windows 11 and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS wiith no issue on this PC.

What infos or logs do you need ?

I'm running :
SSDT-AWAC.aml
SSDT-EC-USBX.aml
SSDT-PLUG-ALT.aml
SSDT-SBUS-MCHC.aml
SSDT-BRG0.aml

My Kexts :

Lilu
RadeonSensor
SMCRadeonGPU
VirtualSMC
SMCProcessor
SMCSuperIO
AppleALC
itlwm
WhateverGreen
CPUFriend
CPUFriendDataProvider
RestrictEvents.kext
USBToolBox.kext
UTBMap.kext

BootArgs :

agdpmod=pikera watchdog=0 debug=0x100 keepsyms=1 -wegswitchgpu itlwm_cc=FR

Thanks !

Attach your EFI+IOReg to check!

Also, can you describe the exact scenario when the crash happens? Are there any crash logs?

Here it is. I found a former crash report I saved, I guees it is simalr because it is related to a similar xcrash, I guess... If I have a new crash I upload it here.

OK.... I'm "lucky", just got a new one. Had a corrupted display for a sec then logged out. Managed to log in to sen you that. I was working on Lightroom who crashed first and then right after I was logged out. I join both system and LR log.

The crash seems due to Storage. Can you provide the NVMe details from Disk Utility (in case if you do not remember)?

Need NVMe information to check this. You can grab from BIOS in EZ mode.

Hi,

I have several NVMe on my system.

MacOS is installed on a Crucial CT1000P5PSSD8, described on the invoice as "Crucial P5 Plus 1TB SSD M.2 Gen4 NVMe up to 6600 MB/s"
I use for data storage a Crucial CT4000P3SSD8 and a Samsung SSD970EVOPlus 1 TB I firmware updated some years ago.

Windows is installed on a internal standard SSD WDS100T2B0A-00SM50

Linux is installed on an external CT500MX OOSSDD1

In addition I have 2 internal HD WDC WD20EARX-008FB0 (mechanical HD) for storage/Backup also

Seems like the Samsung is causing issue. Cause, the KP is always from the IONVMeFamily itself. The Crucial P5 Plus is a retail version of Micron 3400 OEM (has same controller) and that's supported so is Crucial P3.

The WD Blue SA SATA SSD is also fine. The Crucial external will not use IONVMeFamily. The Internal HDD are fine as well. So, the Samsung seems to be culprit here. You would need to remove Samsung to narrow down the issue.
