I couldn't find a thread about the compatibility of PCIe/USB audio cards, and I think there used to be one on the forum.

I have an ESI Maya44eX card. The card even has its own drivers for MacOS and its own application. The drivers and application install without any errors on the Sequoia. The application works and all its functions work, but the sound is intermittent and raspy. The audio cutout frequency changes with the sample rate, but it's impossible to get a good sound. I don't know what the problem is. Does anyone have any experience with this card on MacOS and could help me?

Umm, there wasn't one. You might have read that in the Thunderbolt guide where few Audio Interface were tested.

Never heard about that. In which slot you have it plugged? Use the siot from CPU and that way you will have less latency. It could be also possible that something else is interfering or causing issue. Turn off WiFi/BT and then check.

The card works fine in Windows. It's only a problem in HackOS. I contacted the card manufacturer, but it turns out they only supported it up to macOS 11 Big Sur:

"The current MAYA44 eX macOS driver works only with macOS Big Sur and older macOS version.

Apple has made many changes starting with macOS Monterey, so the current MAYA44 eX macOS driver is not compatible with macOS Monterey or newer macOS versions.

Please note, the MAYA44 eX card works only in a native PCIe slot on a Mac Pro for example. The current macOS MAYA44 eX driver not support external PCIe to thunderbolt extension systems like Sonnet etc.

Also no hackintosh systems are supported, the driver will not work!"

Oh, that's weird. However, we managed to fix several devices where manufacturers discontinued the support. Before the debug, was it working fine on Big Sur with your hardware?

I have had this card for a short time and have not tested it in any other system than Sequoia and Windows.

Okay, fair enough. Check DM.
