Hello!

So, I was trying to install Ventura with OC on my laptop. Disk 1 with Linux Mint, Disk 2 empty to install macOS. Everything went well, until I realized macOS installation erased my Linux Mint EFI from the other disk. Put Linux Mint ISO on USB, booted, used "Boot Repair" to repair my Linux EFI, worked well for Linux but messed my macOS EFI partition. Annoying. Went back to point 0 trying to install macOS again, but this time my OC won't get to picker. I was thinking okay, maybe something got corrupted, start from real 0 and use Dortania's guide again to rebuild my OC. Rebuilt it as nicely as before, trying to boot, not getting to picker again. Ok, maybe something changed on Linux EFI when I used the repair tool and it annoys the OC bootloader. Opened my laptop, disconnected Disk 1 completely, tried to boot OC again from USB with only 1 active disk and empty. Not getting to picker.

I thought maybe I got lucky the first time and Ventura has some problems with my hardware, build another OC from 0 for Monterey this time. Format the USB, put Monterey on it, put EFI, try to boot. Not getting to picker. I tried to change Secure Boot model from "Default" to "Disabled". Still not working. I don't know how to make it work, my OC is 1.0.3 Debug version, all my Kexts are latest Release version. I used specifically Dortania's guide for Kaby Lake Laptop, as I have a Lenovo Legion Y520-15IKBN with i7-7700HQ and GTX 1050 Ti, Realtek Ethernet and Wi-Fi card updated to Intel 9260.

With my untrained eye, I don't seem to find anything crazy in the logs, I will put them here with my full Monterey EFI build, as I deleted the logs from Ventura. The last lines on Ventura logs were the same as on Monterey anyway, so I don't think the OS version is the problem.

Also, Secure Boot is disabled in BIOS, set to AHCI, Fast Boot is disabled, Intel Platform Trust is disabled, I tried to boot with GPU set to iGPU only and with Discrete (both available). The only thing that's enabled is Intel Virtual Technology (I tried with it disabled as well). I don't have other options, as BIOS is locked and quite limited on this laptop model.

EFI

Thanks!

EFI

Your EFI is not as per the guide.

Why are you using FixupAppleEfiImages?

What's the reason to use -wegnoegpu -igfxnotelemetryload? Are you aware that it will disable the Graphics completely?

Regarding the picker, some systems may not work with picker attributes set to 17. Change it to 1 and you should be able to see the picker.

Lastly, what's the reason to use the DEBUG version of OpenCore?

About Fixup, I didn't modify it personally. I looked up OpenCore 1.0.3 Sample.plist and it's already active there. As I only changed what Dortania's guide mentioned for my setup, the rest are default, as found in OpenCore 1.0.3. I also tried to boot with it off but it didn't boot.

I use "-wegnoegpu" to disable my dGPU (GTX 1050 Ti). If I remember correctly, at some point in the past, an installation that I tried didn't boot without "-igfxnotelemetryload" so I put it here as well. After your comment, I tried with "-wegnoegpu" ON and "-igfxnotelemetryload" OFF and after that, with both of them OFF but still won't boot in any case.

I changed the picker attribute to 1 instead of 17 but it didn't work.

I use the DEBUG version for situations like this when my setup simply won't cooperate and I need the logs to try to find a solution.

You should use a proper DSDT/SSDT method to disable it completely so that you can save the real power when on battery.

That's weird. This indicates there is something with the drive or any other hardware that might be conflicting. Try to do the following:

Remove all the drives. With the EFI revised, put it into a USB in FAT32, MBR and check if you can see picker.
