GUIDE How to Inject EDID [Clover/OpenCore]

GPU: AMD Radeon RX6600XT
Opencore Coffee Lake
Monitor1: Z-Edge U2814K 4K 27”
Monitor 2: Sceptre Z27 4K 27”

Note: This setup with AOC monitors works perfectly and gives me 4K with HiDPI. Hackintool says AOC is 7680x4320 resolution, which with HiDPI becomes exactly 4K

For those interested:
If your monitor is not recognized as having HiDPI in native mode, it's due to missing EDID Info that Mac looks for from the monitor. I've tried many technique to inject the correct one. My only working solution was the PAID BetterDisplay Pro ($18 in 2023) that has a section on EDID injections and allows you to inject any resolution you like.

Modifying EDID​

If you're having a black screen after wake, provided that your ACPI patching is correct, modifying the EDID will probably fix your issue.

1. Extract the EDID using the DarwinDump method.
2. Copy the EDID.bin file to any other directory.
3. Open the FixEDID App.
4. Click on the Open EDID binary file and select the EDID.bin.
5.

7. Click on Make. FixEDID will automatically generate a new directory on the Desktop.

Paste the value without comma, spaces and without 0x and it works fine

Your profile indicates that the Laptop has dGPU as well. Have you disabled it? And is IGPU present on the Laptop?
