I have thunderbolt working with UAD Apollo interface. Hotplug works. I now connected a 4K Display via USBC/DisplayPort Cable. I also have a second 4K Display connected via the HDMI output of the PC. Both Displays work flawless - even Audio works.

One thing doesn't work:
The display connected via Thunderbolt USBC/DisplayPort Cable has troubles waking up from Display Sleep. I have to replug the cable in order to wake it up.

Are there any settings/kexts in Opencore where I can fix that?

Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4?

Thunderbolt 3. Motherboard is an Asus ProART Z490 with TB3.

What card are you using? It is onboard or PCIe Expansion? Either the case, is it stock firmware or a custom?

The ASUS Proart z490 has onboard TB3
- no PCI card
- no Custom firmware, I use the original Asus Firmware.

If you have a normal monitor, try via Type-C. 4K monitor might have trouble waking up. Also, as per your profile, it seems that you're using IGPU. Is that correct?

Provide your EFI to check!

Does anyone know if hotplug works on the Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite DDR4 with BIOS F30, Intel 13700KF, AMD 5700XT, Fenvi T919 Wi-Fi, and Titan Ridge 2 Thunderbolt original Firmware?

Also, how should I connect my Titan Ridge? Do I need both the Thunderbolt header cable and the USB cable to the motherboard, or just the Thunderbolt header cable? It's a bit confusing

No longer have this board and don't remember the BIOS version we tested on. But it should work.

Yes, you need to use the PCIe Cables+THB_C Cable and the USB Cable as well.

Hi, I have Thunderbolt working without HotPlug. I have an Asus Thunderboltex 4 card on a B550-E ASUS motherboard with Opencore 1.0.3. I followed the guide step by step, but I feel that my ACPI path is a little confusing. I attached a screenshot of my iOReg where I had to search for my Apollo sound card there because nothing related to Thunderbolt is showing up.

I would appreciate it if someone could help me.

PR:
  1. Thunderbolt Maple Ridge
  2. Thunderboltex 4 Asus AIC
  3. Asus Rog Strix B550 E
  4. Ryzen 7 5800x
  5. Opencore 1.0.3 - MacOs 15.3.2
