How to Add Memory Information in OpenCore

Overview


Adding memory information can be required if your RAM information is not detected properly or has some missing information such as Serial Number. The section is inside PlatformInfo>Memory, under Devices section.

Devices
This section provides the RAM information. The options are listed below. Similar to Clover's SMBIOS>Memory section.

OptionNotes
AssetTag
  • Specifies the asset tag of this memory device.
BankLocator
  • Specifies the physically labeled bank where the memory device is located.
DeviceLocator
  • Specifies the physically-labeled socket or board position where the memory device is located.
Manufacturer
  • Specifies the manufacturer of this memory device.
PartNumber
  • Specifies the part number of this memory device.
SerialNumber
  • Specifies the serial number of this memory device.
Size
  • Specifies the size of the memory device, in megabytes. 0 indicates this slot is not populated.
Speed
  • Specifies the maximum capable speed of the device, in megatransfers per second (MT/s). 0 indicates an unknown speed.
