Can’t get HDR to show up in settings

I tried it on a Windows 11 PC and was able to get HDR to work while having the monitor on 300Hz.

I’m not the only person who has issues with HDR not showing up for higher refresh rates on macOS tho (found a couple discussions about it on Reddit without a fix)

Also, YouTube doesn’t show HDR while using Safari for whatever reason

Interesting. So 240Hz would be max i guess?

What macOS version?

A fix is to change the user agent in Safari for HDR.

Running the latest macOS Ventura atm, planning on upgrading to Sonoma at some point tho.

Also I have the latest Safari 17 and tried to change the useragent to the built in Chrome one for both macOS and Windows, didn’t change a thing.

Tested on a couple of machines. The fix is to use "Show Develop in menubar" in Safari Preferences. Tested on macOS 13.4, RX6600XT with an LG 38" HDR monitor using Type-C @60Hz. On macOS Sonoma, no such settings required as it works OOTB.

1. Last time I checked, the RX6600XT doesn’t have a USB-C port
2. Enabling the dev menu on its own isn’t going to do a thing, you still need to select an appropriate user agent (which I already tried and didn’t change a thing, unless you added something custom)

Also, from what I understand, WiFi is going to be an issue if I update to Sonoma as it dropped support for most Broadcom cards (including the one I have)
Disabling SiP to get WiFi working isn’t ideal

It was using TB on a Raptor Lake Motherboard ;)

The interesting thing is that it does, that's what is needed to activate HDR ;)
