I guess my main problem is that I haven't been able to identify the exact audio codec I have.

Well, i'll update this guide soon to identify the Audio Codec on Mac and Windows.
Your Audio Codec is "Conexant CX8200"

The layout ID must be same in the Audio and the Device>Properties section.
Using a KabyLake Spoof for the KabyLake-R Graphics, when it's supported natively, isn't a good idea. Remove Intel GFX entry, uncheck Inject Intel checkbox and also remove the ig-platform-id.
