Dark Theme..maybe? :)

Hi guys,

I know this is probably something you already had in mind, but it's something I've been wishing all the websites to have (especially the ones on which you're spending a considerable amount of time on). Which is a dark theme. It really messes my eyes constantly look at a bright screen.

As an example of kinda what I have in mind is this linustechtips forum dark theme: https://userstyles.org/styles/124199/linustechtips-dark.

Now, of course, it doesn't necessarily need to be that one. But...something similar. Dark theme with some accent colors.

Just a suggestion since this is the place for that. And I think other users might like the idea, as well.

This is actually a good idea. We had in mind but didn't got time to have the dark mode. We'll implement this as soon as possible.
Any color combination you prefer?

Well, I'm no designer and I'm sure this is a matter of taste. But...I'd say a dark grey + orange would look nice (similar to what linus has got there). Also, dark grey + red. And why not, dark grey + green (though personally I would prefer one of the first ones). It's not bad. Especially if it's a "minty" kind of green. But yeah, just personal preference.

These are all accent colors, by the way. Very subtle, very nice. Nothing fancy, nothing flashy.

I personally don't like the green theme, Blue is my color and the dark red (if it won't break the design and doesn't make the user's eyes to bleed is a better choice in my view)

Well, if it's just the accent color that's different...and the base theme is identical, maybe we can have 2 versions to choose from. One with a warm accent color (red/dark orange would be my personal favourites) and one with whatever you guys decide for a colder look (blue/green)? I don't know. I'm ok with either one of them. I do see myself using both. The main problem in my case is the background. It's way too bright for my eyes. And maybe I got used to Mojave's new dark mode, but I think this forum would look gorgeous in a dark theme.

Yeah, me too. Once it's been implemented, I've never switched back to the default white version.
It's just as they say: once you go black, you never go back. )
