Need help with Cirrus Logic CS8409 on Inspiron 3505

In that case, you can use VoodooHDA.
Hi
Today I tried VoodooHDA, and it sadly doesn't work. No audio output devices are shown although SIP is disabled and VoodooHDA loads up in Security and Privacy in preferences. But everything shows "No VoodooHDA output devices found".

Attached below screenshot of Hackintool Sound tab after installing VoodooHDA.
I feel it is only showing my Laptop's HDMI audio controller (Realtek) not the Cirrus Logic which is used for mic and sound output and even AUX.

Kindly suggest next steps to take. Thanks.

Not working.
Maybe I'm using it wrong, on clicking it it gives me a number of files and I've no idea what to do with them.
There's one file that upon clicking gives 4 .pkg files. I've installed all of the .pkgs and it did nothing.

A better explained install instruction will be appreciated. OP's install guide is unclear, and brief.
Thanks.

Not working. Getting could not load error. Posted video that shows.

At this point, I'm just giving up on my hackintosh, everytime i get this far but after this point (audio and wifi/bluetooth) it has never worked with either applealc or voodoohda on my dell inspiron 3505. Also macOS 27 will anyway drop support for x64 devices so hackintosh will be dropped anyway.

Thank you to this community for all the help you all have given me. I will erase my hackintosh off because it is consuming 100gb storage from my 256gb ssd, and not really being much useful, and i cannot afford to just waste this storage space.

Regards. You may close this thread.
Have a good day.

Actually, its quite simple. Install VoodooHDA to EFI/OC/Kexts directory and execute the VoodooHDA.prefPane to install the preferences. As usual, SIP must be disabled.

The video is no longer available. That is your wish to whether pursue hackintosh or not.

Had followed those steps exactly and didn't work. Basically the video was showing that upon clicking VoodooHDA preferance pane in settings, system would show error "Failed to load preference pane".

I am, by now, sure that neither VoodooHDA nor AppleALC support the Cirrus Logic CS8409 directly (though, very strangely, a prior iMac 2017 had this exact same audio codec). And I speak from over a full year of browsing the internet, researching, and trying different workarounds.

I searched all over the internet on hundreds of forums and while many people had a lot to say on this codec, no one could get it working till this very day. Many people have also tried VoodooHDA or even building AppleALC for this codec but finally there is no conclusion to any of these posts.

Of course, if other users have gotten similar/same codec working, they are welcome to post on it or to continue research. Maybe someday we will have codec support for this, with the help of respected developers or esteemed members.

Regards.
