How to Fix Boot Graphics Glitch on macOS High Sierra

You may have noticed that when you boot into macOS, there's a glitch just before the login screen. This glitch is referred to as Boot Graphics Glitch and is sometimes also known as boot garbled screen.

To fix this issue, follow the steps below

STEP 1: Mount your EFI Partition

The very first step is to mount your EFI Partition.
Mount your EFI Partition of your system drive.

STEP 2: Adding patch for Boot Graphics Glitch

Open your config.plist file using Clover Configurator
Navigate to the kernel and kext patches tab and add the following patch in your config.plist.

NameFind* [HEX]Replace [HEX]CommentMatchOS
com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily01000075 22010000EB 22Boot graphics glitch, 10.13 beta (based on denskop patch)10.13.x

Save your config.plist file

STEP 3: Restart

Now restart your laptop and the glitch should be fixed. The glitch should be less than a second which can be ignored.

NOTES:
  • If your laptop has a CSM option, enable it which will fix this issue.
  • Some laptops do not have a CSM but a Legacy option, so enable Legacy Boot mode but always use UEFI to boot.
