I have thunderbolt working with UAD Apollo interface. Hotplug works. I now connected a 4K Display via USBC/DisplayPort Cable. I also have a second 4K Display connected via the HDMI output of the PC. Both Displays work flawless - even Audio works.

One thing doesn't work:
The display connected via Thunderbolt USBC/DisplayPort Cable has troubles waking up from Display Sleep. I have to replug the cable in order to wake it up.

Are there any settings/kexts in Opencore where I can fix that?

Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4?

Thunderbolt 3. Motherboard is an Asus ProART Z490 with TB3.

What card are you using? It is onboard or PCIe Expansion? Either the case, is it stock firmware or a custom?

The ASUS Proart z490 has onboard TB3
- no PCI card
- no Custom firmware, I use the original Asus Firmware.

If you have a normal monitor, try via Type-C. 4K monitor might have trouble waking up. Also, as per your profile, it seems that you're using IGPU. Is that correct?

Provide your EFI to check!

Does anyone know if hotplug works on the Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite DDR4 with BIOS F30, Intel 13700KF, AMD 5700XT, Fenvi T919 Wi-Fi, and Titan Ridge 2 Thunderbolt original Firmware?

Also, how should I connect my Titan Ridge? Do I need both the Thunderbolt header cable and the USB cable to the motherboard, or just the Thunderbolt header cable? It's a bit confusing

No longer have this board and don't remember the BIOS version we tested on. But it should work.

Yes, you need to use the PCIe Cables+THB_C Cable and the USB Cable as well.

Hey guys! I tried to include the SSDT patches on my Gigabyte Titan Ridge TB3 AIC and after rebooting I get the Apple Prohibited symbol. I'm running on a Ryzen 9 5900x

Also I am not running custom firmware (I'm worried of screwing it up with how expensive these AICs are nowadays.)

1. Intel JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 Controller
2. Gigabyte Titan Ridge AIC (rev 2.0)
3. Add in card
4. Bottom Slot (3rd PCIe 16x slot)
5. Plugged in THB_C on board
6. BIOS Settings: Thunderbolt 3 Enabled, Boot Support Enabled, No Security
7. Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC (Rev 2.0)
8. Ryzen 9 5900x
9. macOS Sequoia 15.6
10. Copy of IOReg attached
11. Kextcache output attached in TXT

The HotPlug implementation seems fine.

Oh yeah, these TB3 prices are way more expensive, near to TB5. Its all because of demand and supply chain. Moreover, as there is new technology (TB4/TB5), the manufacturers are pushing the new one in market.

Connect the Card in PCIe Slot #3 (X4 electrical, X16 physical). Its the third slot from top.
