I was having the same issue. I somehow got it fixed in a VM on KVM and then burned the disk image to a drive

Better answer: Install another version that is known to work and then use the offline createinstallmedia command to create install media with the offline method:

I installed ventura on a seperate volume for that

That requires a working Mac. The user doesn't have it.

It requires MacOS but I'm saying hackintosh Ventura without acceleration (nv_disable=1), then use that installation of MacOS to create the offline installer. Then the user could install MacOS High Sierra without issues

It's not a matter of installation. The user is trying an online method (recovery). The solution is to use an offline installer.

True, and the way to get the offline installer is to use MacOS and the createinstallmedia command as described in the Dortania article

I've personally tested other versions of online installers and they work without issue. High Sierra's online installer is the issue
