It can be added and before. For some systems, it cannot before without the patch. You can find the port limit patch here:Thanks for your help - there's no mention of a 'port limit patch' in this installation guide. Can you point me to info regarding this on EliteMacx86?
I guess the two things I need to know are 1) Where I get the patch from and 2) What folder on the USB installation Pen drive to I put it in or - is this a script to be added to the config.plst?
I can find posts about fixing USB ports AFTER installation but not about fixing a USB installer in order to work before....
Would I have to mount the EFI contained on the pen drive, open the config.plst and edit that? Is there a legacy config.plst that's 'ready to go' that I could just replace the current one with, if that's the case?
Currently I don't understand the process of adding a 'port limit patch' to a USB installer. Perhaps that's something that could be added to the installation instructions?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

[Fix] USB Port Limit 10.14.4 by ©PMHeart
PMHeart found a way how to fix the USB Port Limit Drama with this 3 KextsToPatch Entries. Just add them to your Config.plist and everything is great again. All credits goes out to @PMHeart PS: Personally I didn't check them out... Since I don't need them all because I use a custom USB Kext on...
