Are you using the AppleHDA from the v1.8?

No, I am using the one of the 3 Mirone sent me. with layout id 2. I notice the sound is better. I realize I did not have microphone with v1.8 either. the. microphone is recognize but it is not working.

Yeah, Mojave has better Audio quality with layout ID=2. Does the Microphone records any input?

when I open sys pref sound in the input tap at first the microphone bars seems to records input but they get grey immediately. I think with the v1.8 I make a Skype test call and I could hear some noise. however with this one there is no noise.

Yes, my DSDT is patched with layout id 2 and IRQ Fix.
