Hello,

I just purchasing a flashed ready GC Alpine Ridge v2.0 for macOS because I can't found this old model in the market. But when I installed it in windows 11 machine the card is not recognized and its not detect any devices attached on it.

I just want to know if a flashed macOS card can work on both macOS and windows machine or it's need to be flashed back with original firmware ?

Did the GC Alpine Ridge v2.0 can make an Apple thunderbolt 27 inches display to work in windows machine via TH3 to TH2 adapter ?

Please If someone have the Original Firmware of GC Alpine Ridge v2.0 can upload it, and I need to flash back only the blue ship or blue and green ships ??

The card is already pin-outs connected pin 3 with pin 5, I can keep it like that or remove the connection ? by the way I don't have the TB_Header in my motherboard.

I have another Card GC-Titan Ridge v2.0 not flashed but its can not make the Apple thunderbolt 27 inches display to work via the adapter, its this normal or there are something wrong ?

Thanks!

Kind Regards

BaG

Unfortunately, that's the limitation on other OS with custom firmware. To make the Thunderbolt work on other OS, you need to install the original firmware.

Should be possible.

If you don't have the backup of the chips, you can download the firmware from the Gigabyte website and can flash it. To flash, here are the instructions

If there is no THB_C Header, it's good to jumper the PINS.

Which OS? What firmware version?

Thank you my friend,

The original firmware is not existing the Alpine ridge rev 2 website : https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GC-ALPINE-RIDGE-rev-20/support#support-dl-driver

I made a long search in the web but not found the original one !! only the patched one exist.

For my Titan Ridge card the OS is windows 11 and the Firmware version is 50 with security level 1, this card work fine this USB-C disks but when I use the TH3 to TH2 adapter the device is lighten but not detected in windows.

I made some search and I see that the JHL7540 chipset can't make Thunderbolt 2 and 1 to work. not yet confirmed at 100% and I hope that someone can confirm this issue.

Security Level must be set to No Security.

Well, we have already used TB3 to TB2 Adapter and a lot of devices works using that.

This option need to patch the card or via windows settings ??
For the Thunderbolt Display to work on Windows, you need to route the Display from your GPU to the TB using a DP to mDP Cable.

Secondly, you'll need original (stock) firmware. As your Motherboard is unsupported for Thunderbolt and does not have THB_C Header, the jumpering of PINS are required.

All this is already done in the Titan ridge rev2 but it's still not working to make devices working via the adapters.

Now I need to found the original Firmware of the Alpine Ridge rev2 to make it back to the original version and try with windows and see if it recognize it at least.

Someone please have copied the original Firmware of the Alpine Ridge rev2.0 . this really can help me to go back to the original version.

Thank you

What is exactly not working? Is Thunderbolt recognized? Are other devices working?

Titan Ridge will have better compatibility than Alpine Ridge so better you continue with that.

Use Titan Ridge for better compatibility.

OK let's Focus in the Titan Ridge rev 2.0 now !!

This card is well detected in windows 11 in version 50 with SL1, I tried and USB-C hard drive via thunderbolt port 1 & 2 and it work. But when I try to use thunderbolt 1 & 2 devices via the TH3 to TH2 adapters the thunderbolt display is not detected and the LACIE thunderbolt external hard drive is powerup but not detected in windows 11.

maybe a downgrade version can solve this problem or a driver patch can do !!

So, you mean none of the Devices work with TB3 to TB2 Adapter?
