Hi everyone,

I’m running a Hackintosh with a Ryzen 7 7700X, and I’m experiencing some issues with temperature and CPU usage on macOS. There are no such problems on Windows, but temperatures seem a high on macOS. Here are my system details and observations:

2.Photo

System Specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X

GPU: ASRock RX 6800 XT Phantom Gaming

Motherboard: MSI MPG B650 EDGE WIFI

RAM: 32GB Ram

What I’ve Tried:

I added SMCAMDProcessor.kext and VirtualSMC.kext to the EFI.

Despite these changes, temperatures on macOS still seem higher than expected. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Any recommendations for optimizing power management on OpenCore or macOS?

I’ve attached some screenshots. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Seems like the screenshot does not exists. Attach the related temps and usage info and also drop your EFI to check!

Hello, here my config.
Your config is not as per the guide.

Here are a few issues. Make the following changes to your config.plist:

- Set ResizeAppleGpuBars to -1.
- Kexts sorting order is not correct. Main kexts should load first.
- You should set all kexts Arch as Any.
- Why are you using XhciPortLimit when your USB Ports are mapped?
- Why are you using CustomSMBIOSGuid? Is the machine from Dell/SONY?
- Set the "SetApfsTrimTimeout" to defaults i.e. -1. What's the boot disk model?
- Set the KernelArch as Any
- Why are you using PollAppleHotKeys?
- Why are you using vsmchbkp=0?
- You shouldn't likely need amfipassbeta arg.
- Set UpdateSMBIOSMode to Create if the machine is not a Dell/SONY.

Lastly, are you sure you have calculated the MmioWhitelist on your own, for your specific hardware?

Once you're done with the changes, save your config.plist. Restart the system and reset NVRAM twice. Attach the new PR files.

Hello, I didn’t create this EFI file myself. I sent my hardware details to a friend, and they said they would prepare an EFI suitable for my system. Later, they sent me this EFI file. I may not be able to complete all the steps you mentioned, as I’m not very experienced with these things. If it’s not too much trouble for you, could you help me configure the EFI?

Ah ok.

Sure. We're here to help. What are your BIOS settings?

BIOS settings is default.
Only secure boot is disabled.
You gotta attach the BIOS pictures to check the settings whether they are up to the mark!

You'll need to attach all the BIOS settings.
