Hi!

I am having an issue with HDMI audio on a dual boot OSX Catalina and Windows 10 on an HP Z420Workstation.

OSX works great just like Windows, the problem is when I go from one system to another REBOOTING.

The sequence is the following:
1 – I turn on the computer and enter OSX with the picker, ALL NORMAL, RESTART
2 – Enter Windows 10 with the picker, ALL NORMAL, RESTART
3 – Enter OSX again, I DO NOT HAVE HDMI AUDIO, works fine through the audio ports of the machine

If I turn the computer off and back on the HDMI audio is restored.

Doing several tests I have noticed that when I restarts and goes from one system to another its like the previous one remained in Suspend/Hibernation, how did I come to this conclusion? Because is another of the symptoms with Google Chrome, although it works ok, when I try to close it its stops responding, googling I see that it is one of the symptoms that happens on some computers after returning from hibernation, like the loss of Audio. Obviously I have hibernation disabled on OSX.

The audio through the computer ports (not HDMI) works perfectly.

Next, I leave some specifications and solutions that I tried without success

Equipment: HPZ420 Workstation
Video card: Radeon RX580
Opencore: 0.9.0
Audio codec: Realtek ALC262

To perform the hack guide me with the following guide:

List of SSDTs I'm using

SSDT-CPUPM
SSDT-EC
SSDT-HDEF
SSDT-HPET
SSDT-IMEI
SSDT-OTHERS
SSDT-SBUS-MCHC
SSDT-USB2

Kexts list:

Lilu, VirtualSMC, Intelmausi, mXHCD, RestrictEvents, USBToolBox, UTBMap, WhateverGreen, AppleALC, CpuTscSync, SMCProcessor, SMCSuperIO

Some of the things I tried and didn't work:

1 - OpenCore NO ACPI (do not pass APCI info to Windows)

2 - These options to TRUE in the config.plist
UEFI/Audio/ResetTrafficClass and
UEFI/Audio/DisconnectHda

3 - alctcsel=1 in bootargs

The last thing that I am trying to test is the use of a kexts called CodecCommander.kext which I would not be understanding correctly how to activate since it is not done just by putting it in the kexts folder and adding it to the config.plist, I don't know if it will work either. solution, if someone can enlighten me here, I leave the link

I don't know if I was missing any information, if so, just ask.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the inconvenience, but yesterday I solve de issue by installing an older version of windows 10, to be precise, version 1809, I don't know why this is happening, I didn't try 1909, 20H2 21H2, obviously 22H2 doesn't work, but with the 1809 reboots and goes from system to system with no audio loss and everything works great! Obviously cancel updates so it doesn't update to version 22H2, because just for testing, I left it active at first, it updated and stopped working again. So, it's not a solution exactly, but it works for me.

Interesting workaround. But still, no PR Files attached.

I have experienced no HDMI audio on Windows and the way I solved it was by going to the device manager and then updating the driver for High Definition Audio
And also you can try rolling back the driver

This is under the audio section of device manager
