Making changes to the macOS Catalina's File System is more difficult than the previous versions of macOS simply because macOS Catalina's File System is read-only by default so in order to make any changes like installing a 3rd party kext or removing the system caches you need to disable the SIP and then you need to have write access to the File System and here's how to do it:

To disable SIP:

Simply boot into macOS's Recovery Partition or use the USB Installer for Catalina or use your Time Machine back up disk (if you have one) then go to the Utilities menu, run Terminal and then type the following command:

# csrutil disable
and the results will be like:
Successfully disabled System Integrity Protection. Please restart the machine for the changes to take effect.

So you have to reboot the system to complete the process.

To enable SIP:

# csrutil enable
Successfully enabled System Integrity Protection. Please restart the machine for the changes to take effect.

So you have to reboot the system to complete the process.

once you disabled SIP you need to make enable write access to the File System.
You can use the Gatekeeper Toggler v. 3.0 to easily disable/enable the Gatekeeper or enable/disable write access to the file system as well.


You can leave SIP disabled if you like, but it's better to make it enable once you're done with your task.
