I'm experiencing the weirdest issue
I have all ports mapped and working on Ventura. UTBMap and Toolbox kexts.
I update the plist using this tool.
And then my external hard drive stops working in Ventura and Tahoe.
Doesn't make sense as it should be the same entries just different names
Can anyone explain 'why' this is required for the 14.4 install? so odd.
and is a real mac instructed to disable it's 'SecureBootModel' or T2 chip for the update? O.o
Both ProArt Creator builds are with clients so I don't have access to them anymore :( But yeah, everything works super smooth with onboard compared to AIC.
Yeah interestingly I think it's problematic when the board has onboard TB3. but who knows, I'm definitely wrong there because I remember...
I honestly feel duped by their particular wording lol
I think I will not be a fan of Thunderbolt until it is looser in pricing. I think it's because Apple/Intel has always charged so much for licensing.
Currently an NVMe USB C 10Gbps enclosure is USD $20
USB C 20 Gbps $40+
and Thunderbolt 3 is...
They're off with clients :/
I don't think I grabbed an IOReg on the ProArt Z490 Creator either, since it was working all fine.
any recommended ones? I tried Elias v23 and v50
WOW! What a silly mistake hahaha! I read "Thunderbolt 4" in the title when buying it from Amazon and I thought it shipped with TB4...nah it's just TB4 support 😒
Yessir! Perfectly! With Hotplug, cold boot, boot with no devices attached then plugging in. Only thing I haven't tested is sleep with drive mounted. You can add it to the success / tested list if you'd like. Using "G-Speed Shuttle RAID Thunderbolt 3". No drivers needed worked perfectly.
As far...
I ended up just swapping for the ProArt Z490 Creator, in the interest of time. Lost the white board but whatever. I was also trying to get two more TB3 ports added to the ProArt but that didn't work. even with flashed ROMs... I wouldnt say I gave up as much as I made a time centric decision lol
Thank you so much. Yeah I'm using them separately, I havent been able to get either working. This is with the Titan Ridge 2.0. I cant believe its showing up as a RAID controller and still not available :/ thank you again!
Okay! Now I've got both alpine ridge and titan ridge flashed and they show up in system report. my drive is recognized but doesn't show up in disk utility. I've tried adding dtpg ssdt and of course tbtforcepower and thunderboltreset.
alpinetitan
I'm sooo close!!! can't imagine what it could be
Yes, all 3 original firmware.
But you say with no THB_C header, the firmware must be flashed correct?
And this behavior is normal without custom firmware?
Honestly, I have purchased Alpine Ridge, Titan Ridge 1.0, and Titan Ridge 2.0, and I have all in front of me trying to get this working...
Hi, hope all are well!
I have an interesting mix here. As per the chart in the thread for "enabling hot plug", I should have it working with single card with original firmware. I've tried with v43, v50, and the elusive v23 mentioned here.
I can't figure out what it is. It's completely recognized...
The odd part is, I've used this same card in a different build and didn't have sleep / wake issues, so I thought there could be some config fix.
You don't see anything in the PR zip that could be fixed to possibly alleviate this?
Edit: or any recommendations on which to buy? I think I may face...
Yeah the ax200 is on board. Any ideas on fixing with the BCM? I know it may not be per the guide but it'd be nice to receive some help with this particular problem
