Universal Control Keeps Disconnecting

I have a wifi/bluetooth card pulled from a working mac that works fine, but universal control randomly disconnects from my iPad.

I've tried Open Core Legacy Patcher, but I'm not even sure if I need this.

AirPort WiFi WLAN Card & BT 4.2 BCM943602CDP Module For Apple iMac 2017 21.5"

It only shows my iPad as a universal control option but not my new Macbook Air m4
