Thunderbolt Success: Tested Thunderbolt Setup for macOS

Due to the huge success reports from users, it made more sense to create a dedicated thread for the setup used to achieve Thunderbolt functionality. The following table contains the list of the Hardware setup, reported by several users of this forum. If you have any success to report, let us know and it will be added accordingly.

My experience with the clover/EFI (clover 5119) files for Catalina up to date 10.15.7 (19H1715).
This configuration is intended for making audio with Reaper or any other DAW.




SETUP :
- Asus prime Z390-A
- Asus thunderboltEX 3 (original firmware nvm26) 1 TB, 1 USB, 1 mini DisPlayPort
- Intel i9 9900k (with UHD 630)
- Asus Rog Strix RX570 4Go
- 32Go Corsair vengeance LPX (4x8) (XMP 1 enable in bios)
- Antelope discrete 8 synergy core
- Ipad 7th generation

Otherwise for the configuration it is important not to forget to generate a ROM in config.plist/Rt variables - SMBIOS or use UseMacAddr0 otherwise the Antelope card will be recognized but not connected in the launcher and therefore not active!.
I left my config.plist, I only erased my serial and ROM numbers (generate yours own) , I left the UUID for the nvram.

All Work :

- Thunderbolt and Hotplug (Antelope discrete 8 Synergy Core)
- UHD 630
- Radeon RX570
- sleep and wake up
- NVRAM
- Ethernet
- Ipad 7th generation via USB port Asus TBEX3 (Sidecar)



** This configuration works under Catalina and W10 without changing anything in the bios.
Simply choose which Catalina or Ntfs disk when starting clover

* I ordered a 15.6" full hd touch screen (Wimaxit M1560CTV2) to be able to connect it to the USB port of the Asus ThunderboltE3 card. This is to use it to display the Antelope's audio mixer and to be able to use the faders with this touch screen.
It will be on an articulated desk support with its VESA mounting.

** Below my ioreg, the complete EFI folder with the config.plist (just choose your Mac model in SMBIOS and generate your serials and don't forget the ROM mac address use (UseMacAddr0) !!. For AppleALCU in the kexts (efi/clover/kexts) you can keep or replace appleALCU by appleALC if you use the sound card integrated into the motherboard. But if, like me, you only use the Antelope as a sound card, you can delete it. You will also find photographs of the bios configuration with thunderbolt.

I am a French composer and musician like you.
I have problems with my mackintosh under open Core to make my antelope being recognized. My Thunderbolt works but the card is not recognized in the Launcher.

I am a French composer and musician like you.
I have problems with my mackintosh under open Core to make my antelope being recognized. My Thunderbolt works but the card is not recognized in the Launcher.
I am under Open Core on Big Sur.
Would you kindly help me ?
