Hello everybody,

I have an HP Prodesk 400 G6 and would like to install MacOS Monterey
I had installed BigSur using Opencore, but a lot of features weren't working properly.

I wanted to install Monterey because I'm going to add an Nvidia GT730 (using the GeForce Patcher)

Do you recommend that I continue to use Opencore or do a clean fresh install with Clover?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

The specifications are:
- HP 8599 Motherboard (U3E1)
- Intel i7-9700 @ 3.00 Ghz
- 32 GB RAM DDR4 @ 1330 Mhz
- 512GB SK Hynix BC501 m2
- Nvidia GT730 4GB (Asus)

Well, your profile reflects a different hardware

GT 730 is supported and can be patched under Monterey using OCLP. OCLP is more robust.

OpenCore is the best. Easy to configure.

The usb ports were not working properly.
Sometimes they weren't "active" while other times they didn't recognize devices correctly.
Audio was not working properly from the RCA outputs on the front and back of the PC.

If I remember correctly, the smbios configured on the old BigSur installation was the iMac19.1

Sorry, I'll edit the profile right away.
I had entered the motherboard model in place of the entire machine name.

OCLP is better than Geforce Monterey Patcher?

I had a hard time setting up the EFI
I had found some EFIs online for my PC but they weren't always working properly.

Regardless of the macOS version, you need to fix and map the ports.

Read here:

The SMBIOS should be set to Macmini8,1. iMac19,1 isn't bad either.

Happens ;)

Indeed. For all the Legacy patching, OCLP is the preferred solution. For patching NVIDIA Graphics on Monterey,
I had a hard time setting up the EFI
The beginning is always hard. To start from scratch, start here

Using someone's else EFI is highly discouraged.

I was able to install the system
Monterey recognizes the GT730 and I install and boot without graphics acceleration.

When I go to root patches with OCLP after reboot my screen is flickering and I can't login or do anything anymore.

If, on the other hand, I do the patch with Geforce Kepler Patcher V4 when I reboot I find myself in a bootloop and I can no longer boot the system.

This is my EFI

I don't understand where the problem can be

What OCLP version did you use?

I found the problem

Inside the boot args I removed these: (ngfxcompat = 1 ngfxgl = 1 nvda_drv_vrl = 1) and the mac rebooted successfully.

With both OCLP and Geforce Patcher V4 patching now works.

The problem is that it is seen as NVIDIA Graphic Card 8MB and I have no acceleration.

How do I know which chip is fitted?
It's an ASUS GT730 4GB

Check in Hackintool>PCIe Tab.
