How to Fix RTC: Only single RAM bank (128 bytes)

When booting macOS using OpenCore, you might have come across the issue "RTC: Only single RAM bank (128 bytes). To fix the issue, follow the steps below.

STEP 1: Mount EFI Partition

The very first step is to mount your EFI Partition. To mount your EFI Partition, follow the guide linked below.

STEP 2: Add Boot Args

The next step is to add boot args to fix the issue. To add the boot args, follow the steps below.

1. While the ESP is mounted, open your config.plist from OC directory.
2. Go to the NVRAM section. In the UUID "7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82" add the npci=0x2000 boot arg under boot-args.

Boot ArgsNotes
npci=0x2000
  • Disables PCI debugging related to kIOPCIConfiguratorPFM64.
  • This issue can also fix stuck on "PCI Start Configuration Begin" as there are IRQ conflicts relating to PCI lanes.

3. Save your config.plist

Once you're done with the above steps, reset NVRAM twice and try to boot into macOS and the error shouldn't be there anymore.
