How to Configure Post Installation on macOS [Clover/OpenCore]

Before you configure the Post Installation for your System, make sure you have installed macOS. If you have not installed macOS yet, follow one of the installation guides linked below.

Clover Installation Guide

OpenCore Installation Guide

Before you start fixing the different areas of the post installation, you should make a note of working and non-working things. Depending on the System and with how much precision the guide was followed, you will have:

Desktops
  • Graphics Acceleration with QE/CI (If using a compatible GPU)
  • Audio (Onboard and HDMI/DP)
  • Ethernet
  • WiFi/BT (If using compatible WiFi/BT hardware). See WiFi/BT Hardware Compatibility for more information
  • AirDrop and Handoff function (If using compatible WiFi/BT hardware). See WiFi/BT Hardware Compatibility for more information
  • Encoding (H.264/H.265 (If using compatible GPU))
  • Power Management (Ivy Bridge and older requires fixing)
  • Thunderbolt HotPlug not working
Laptops
  • Graphics Acceleration with QE/CI (If using a compatible GPU)
  • External Display using HDMI/DP/Type-C (Requires Framebuffer Patching)
  • PS/2 Keyboard and Trackpad (I2C requires fixing)
  • Brightness using Slider in System Preferences>Displays
  • Audio (HDMI/DP Audio requires Framebuffer Patching)
  • Ethernet
  • WiFi/BT (If using compatible WiFi/BT hardware). See WiFi/BT Hardware Compatibility for more information
  • AirDrop and Handoff function (If using compatible WiFi/BT hardware). See WiFi/BT Hardware Compatibility for more information
  • Encoding (H.264/H.265 (If using compatible GPU))
  • Power Management (Ivy Bridge and older requires fixing)
  • Brightness Control not working
  • Battery Status not working
  • Thunderbolt HotPlug not working

For each issues you might have with your system, there may be a combination of DSDT/SSDT patches required or kexts or ACPI renames. Hackintool can be used to determine the various hardware devices installed you need drivers/fixes for.
