Hi all,
I've had a look through the forums and can't see anything quite fitting my issue so I thought I'd ask in a new thread.
I had a fully working Windows 11 system on a Lenovo M720S. The install is on an NVMe.
I then needed to test something on a Mac so initially installed it on an Oracle VirtualBox (worked but how slow!!).
Then I discovered OpenCore!
I did some reading up on it and decided to install on an SSD drive. This is now fully working. Although, I installed two or three times due to various issues, and started on Big Sur but upgraded to Ventura.
Now, my issue started when I was reading up on dual booting. It kept talking about the EFI partition on the MacOS, but my drive didn't have one. I created one manually and copied the EFI folder in and that works for booting MacOS, but when I choose Windows from OpenCore it comes up with a BlueScreen.
If I interrupt the boot and choose boot from Windows Boot Manager, Windows starts up just fine.
My question is, could it be possible for me to get the OpenCore boot to go into Windows? I don't mind reinstalling Windows if needed, but I'd rather not have to reload MacOS as it took quite a bit of work to get everything working on it.
I know that MacOS seems to struggle with NVMe but hopefully I can get this last little bit working!
Quick recap:
- Original OS - Windows 11 on NVMe
- Installed MacOS on an SSD - no EFI partition was created (Probably due to NVMe being present).
- Windows Boot Loader works fine
- MacOS boots fine
- OpenCore will not boot to Windows (BSOD)
