There is Parallels, VMware Workstation, UTM. Then, there is Docker too. A lot of options are there.

What's the problem with bare metal?

There are no problems with bare iron. Problem with vmware fusion. I was recommended to install VMware fusion 10, but there is an error Unable to retrive kernel symbols when starting the VM

Is there any specific reason you want to use VM instead of running it as bare metal?
