No problem! It was a weird issue anyways. There were some problems listed that AppleVTD causes and can be fixed with DisableIoMapperMapping, but none were like this.
This is weird because I don't have more than 16 gb RAM. Hackintoshing is weird...
I think I found the solution. After trying lots of things, I remembered that it started happening around the time I fixed shutdown, which included modifying the DMAR table and disabling DisableIoMapper.
So I enabled the DisableIoMapperMapping quirk, and I haven't see the problem since. I'll do...
A reinstall did not help. I'm on the latest BIOS, here are my BIOS settings:
Boot:
Secure boot - off
Expert key management custom mode - off
Integrated devices:
Thunderbolt technology support - on
Thunderbolt boot support - on
Thunderbolt (and PCIe behind TBT) pre-boot modules - on...
Is the NVMe drive a problem? It sometimes gets stuck at boot Apple NVMe assert (expected), but it doesn't cause other problems (performance is great).
It's 1920x1080 so it's good then.
Current macOS version is 14.6.1. The NVMe is a Samsung PM991a 512GB drive.
I'll try recreating the ACPI patches (no premade this time) and config.plist file.
I checked the BIOS btw, and it says the intel video memory is 64mb. That's good for macOS, right?
Windows and Linux both work perfectly, but they probably use the dGPU for more heavy acceleration (but I doubt firefox is that heavy). macOS also runs perfectly when it isn't acting up (mostly after a restart), and can take a stress test on both the cpu computing and the iGPU.
I'll run a...
I enabled Apple GuC firmware and RPS control patch using this guide. The glitches and panics are sadly still here, so this was not the fix. But the iGPU performace really did improve. Like double of the previous performance.
I checked, and it happens with other apps too. Safari doesn't do it. But Discord does. It said "S arting" instead of Starting, and server icons were glitched. Attached pictures.
Since Discord is an Electron app, which uses Chromium, I'd say Chrome does this too. I can't test since I don't use...
Hello!
I have a problem with my Hackintosh: When I open Firefox (possibly some other apps, but I didn't observe that yet), sometimes it completely glitches out like on the attached picture. It seems like it can't decide where some images belong (like the EliteMacx86 logos on the tab bar). The...
I managed to fix the issue.
I fixed the DMAR table (not sure if it's related to the fix), then added SSDT-DTGP to my EFI (with the correct Thunderbolt hotplug fix SSDT already present). That fixed it, and now it shuts down correctly.
The fixshutdown table? I changed the code a little, it still throws the same error about _PTS namespace lookup

I know this is an old thread and will create a new one if needed, but I found this in the boot log:
“ACPI Error: [_PTS] Namespace lookup failure, AE_ALREADY_EXISTS (20160930/dswload-462)
