Well, the seller asked me to use 2 boot args
- brcmfx-country=CN or brcmfx-country=#a (tried both)
- brcmfx-driver=2
Tried both of them, and it didn’t change a thing, so the seller just told me that this card doesn’t support Ventura (which seems weird as its a native card)
Do I by any chance...
Not going to remove mausiwol as Wake on LAN doesn’t work without it for me. (Using WoL basically every single day through Home Assistant (the home automation system I configured in my house))
I had this issue ever since I got my first 5GHz card.
So like, macOS Big Sur.
I just didn't really try to fix it back then as I wasn't using 5GHz for anything, but now that I have an iPad, I kinda want to use Sidecar + AirDrop is sometimes useful
You sure that I should enable this?
Clearly says macOS 10.8-11. I'm running 13.
Also, the parts of continuity that don't need 5GHz WiFi, already work completely fine for me
Quick update about Linux: I managed to get it to connect to my 5GHz network, but its still slow (~50Mbps)
The Linux driver is probably just worse than the Windows one, but I’d expect the macOS driver to be the best as this is a native Apple card
ok so, I installed the latest driver for this card (from 2016) in Windows PE, and it somehow managed to connect to my 5GHz network, on channel 36.
I moved my router to a different location a few days ago so only getting about 350Mbps over 5GHz on this card atm (my iPad is getting 450Mbps from...
Well, you asked me if I have a real Mac with 5GHz to check, wouldn't that defeat the purpose as well lol 🙃
Also I ditched Windows a while ago, so don't have it at all on any PCs I own & kinda don't want to install it as it sometimes messes up stuff.
So, I'll try the card through Gandalf's Win10...
CMOS already auto cleared when I flashed a new BIOS (and tried to do this earlier by removing the battery & disconnecting power as well) & yea I used QFlash
Don't have a real Mac, but I can shove this card into a different PC to check if its working there
Booting it directly through the BIOS's boot select menu, not through OpenCore.
And yea, all the cables are installed properly & voltages seem to be showing up fine on the monitoring page in the BIOS
As mentioned before, I'm getting the same issue on Linux as well. Even if I just live boot a clean image of Ubuntu.
Clean installing won't change a thing
& already clean installed when I upgraded to Ventura as my old install was used & upgraded since High Sierra and was filled with junk
https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/348108-differences-openhfsplusefi-and-hfsplusefi/
I’ll update it then
Only issues I had with it is not showing the PCIe devices on the slots preview thingy, and I was getting notifications about misplaced RAM (which I fixed in the OpenCore config)
Well...
Downgraded my BIOS to F8 and the issues are still there, going to upgrade back to F9d as I didn’t see any issues with it and its the last version available for my motherboard (also, they didn’t mark it as beta anywhere)
