As I don't have any problem with french & english, for your convenience, I switched system language to english.
And there are the 2 files asked, still nothing on the HQP...
Hmmm...I believe I extracted it from W10 but don't remember how.
FOUND IT : https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/monitor_info_view.html
The best move we can do right now, isn't "to know how I did" but you, explaining me how to extract it the right way.
Wow. I did so many things and didn't took notes about every each of them XD
Maybe I used IOReg ?
The only thing I'm sure, it's that I used an hex editor to check the content of the saved file in the end.
Oooops...I just noticed I'm using my born language. If you want, I can switch to an english...
Using a clone copy, I kept searching...
Knowing the LG can do 4K and the HQP only 1080p, I changed the screen resolution to 1080p : in case of HQP receives >1080p and was out of range...
Then, I noticed something strange : in System Configuration, HQP seems to be set exactly as the LG...
Yeah, I know. But you can trust me, I checked several times. Even on Windows 10, and we can trust him about that :)
And without the EDID injection, there is no HQP found, but it comes after injection.
If you watch closely, after injection, Big Sur reports it as 23 inches (that is correct) and...
I've been thinking...Monterey doesn't have Ivy drivers natively, so you have to add them later.
However, when I simply install it, the HQP works perfectly well. Only after patching does it remain black.
Why is that?
Shouldn't we look a little in that direction to understand what changes next...
Have a look.
If you look at the AIO backside, the motherboard is the right half of it, there's a pic above.
I only replaced the motherboard.
But as this HP was an university gift, I dunno its age, neither if parts were replaced.
It didn't boot all the time, so after deep testing, I concluded...
Well, I tried anyway.
But there was the same issue I got with my previous experiments...
You understood there was only the external monitor that works, yes ?
So, this time, it only displays an extended desktop, without icons, dock...
By luck, I could change the display, so I could access the...
Look for the blue jumper on top left part. But it will be a waste of time looking with that : as the service manual says, there are only 3 settings.
LG (the one that I have), Samsung and AUO as previously said. Using the wrong one will always ends with a garbled display.
The bios is always the...
I've got some info if it helps.
The internal screen (HQP 8300) is indeed connected in LVDS: last year, I had to change the motherboard, and I saw the LVDS interface.
It has a few jumpers, allowing you to choose the type of panel used: LG (the one I have), Samsung or AUO.
Thanks, done.
Guess you're wrong, keep reading XD
So, I did 3 NVRAMresets.
Launched Big Sur, displaying the usual yadda-yadda things, then the screen (= HQP 8300) went black.
I waited until the HDD led stops blinking, then I typed my PW in blind : the HDD led restarted blinking, and stopped...
In the "Kernel" part of config.plist ? (Just to be sure). Because there's "auto", not "any".
Shouldn't be set to 02000000, as it's the LVDS monitor (the HQP 8300) ?
So far, I just made the other changes you suggested, and not tried yet to boot, until I'll be sure to not "duck" the whole...
Yes, it made a zip file, will add it here.
About the "kextcach" command, it did that, pic joined too.
I don't understand what to do, nor what u want here, sorry,
Thanks !
As I said, I did nothing after the BS install ended and not tried to connect external Acer monitor, thinking it can make a mess somewhere ^^
So, I did that you asked, but dunno how to make "Kextcache output", do I need another software ???
And there was another issue...
