Ok .... plist a little less cluttered and there is a small development
Now it WILL boot with the device-id entered in properties.
But adding ig-platform will cause the same freeze.
I did try with whiskeylake device-ID, but unfortunately the same freeze
It DOES show up as the 5916 in system...
Only with the Whiskey Lake ID.
Mojave will boot QE/CI with with any device-ID I throw at it, WKL/KBL/SKL ID's no problem whatsoever (Just need to add ig-platform for KBL/SKL).
While Catalina will not boot with any ID ... complete opposites of each other
Will report back.
The Pink screen is in MOJAVE - I can easily fix it.
Honestly there is just too much unnecessary laptop junk in that plist.
I have narrowed down the issue to this:
IF ANY valid device-id is used Catalina will freeze at the exact same point.
I have tried booting with ID's for Whiskeylake...
Oh and for what its worth, the new up-to-scratch "clean" config will not allow Mojave to boot correctly without some modification.
E.g. platform ID was incorrect (091b0000 instead of 09160000), if frame buffer is enabled it boots to a pink hue, boot flag issues and a few other things that I'm...
Sorry about that, Video is public now
Kext Cache output attached.
The Coffeelake Platform ID that also works fine in Mojave is: 0x3EA50004 (shows as Iris Plus 655)
Any other flags I should use ?
Great
Attached
Platform ID: 59160009
Device ID: 59160000 is what "should" work
(I have also tried CFL ID/Platform that works perfectly in Mojave with exactly the same freeze on boot in Catalina).
I've also uploaded a Slow Mo video of the boot sequence...
Done, No Mods. Only enabled is the EC0 patch and -V flag (or I'd be here till next year wondering if I should wait longer for it to boot).
Still hangs at the same point as the Photo in my OP
Can only boot into Catalina if I disable device ID
PR Attached...
Removed my Plist completely and took Rehabmans HD620 as a base.
STILL frozen at the same spot if graphics are enabled in Catalina.
Attached PR
SteveF Clover - Catalina
You told me it was missing
Same as it has been since the start of this thread - No Acceleration in Catalina
I'm attaching PR files for my 100% working Mojave Config + Catalina Config without Acceleration.
Image in the first post is still how it boots loads if ANY graphics patch is used in...
Went back to scratch with it, re-installed Catalina (with HSF+ and no DSDT I think I deleted by accident before submitting but made no difference anyhow)
System boots fine until any graphics patch / injector / Fake ID / SSDT or otherwise is included.
Even went and tried with the Rehabman NUC7...
1. Its not a Laptop
2. Can you elaborate on "not up to the mark" ? As that could mean a million things.
But I've gone an re-installed following the guide as best I could (used fake SMC rather than Virtual SMC etc ...)
Cleaned off the kexts folders.
Installed the prescribed drivers from the...
So I have 2 identical machines - HP Google Chromeboxes with UEFI firmware installed.
I've had Mojave up and running beautiful for almost the past 6 months - very few issues setting it up and graphics work perfectly by simply setting the ig-platform-id in clover and injecting intel with clover...
